A Note From the Founder – Kristin Elliott
I love print and pattern! The mod flower prints of the 60s and 70s and wild abstract designs of the 80s often influence my designs. It’s funny how I can get inspiration from almost anywhere – my daughter’s artwork, poring over vintage magazines, playing in my garden and even watching the swirls of cream in my coffee cup! I love to spend hours searching fabric warehouses visualizing designs and then mixing everything together with special trims and embellishments. It can take weeks of experimenting with numerous fabrics and trims to get the look I want for just a single bag!
In search of the perfect bag that was fun and light, I designed my first sassy patchwork hobo in 2007. It was a wild, vintage 70’s fabric mix with a big red velveteen heart. I spent the next year perfecting the design and having a blast designing one-of-a-kind hobo handbags. Customers fell in love and I sold them as fast as I could make them to women all over the world. When I came up with a mini version of my signature hobo – “the Micro” – it was an instant hit! What’s not to love about a convertible mini-purse, wristlet and hip/belt bag all rolled into one?
The current collection is the result of almost a year of designing and planning. Each patchwork handbag is handmade with love using multiple fabrics and trims, along with high quality, functional hardware.
Have fun looking through the collection and I hope you see lots to love.
Thank you!
